Those expecting an acknowledgement of loss or the passing of time - a comment, say, on the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021 - do not find it on the menu tonight. Having endured death, dope, arrests, fights, falls from trees, cancer, and more death,
Charlie Watts was never into anything too flashy with The Rolling Stones. He could have easily tried to lay down some mean drum solo if he wanted, but would that really have worked to put some jazzy freakout in the middle of ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’? Watts was always smarter than that, but he didn’t think the rest of the rock community had the same idea when he saw acts like Cream and Led Zeppelin gaining traction.

Shortly after 1 a.m., in walks Charlie Watts, the famously understated drummer of a band featuring some of rock ‘n’ roll’s largest personas. Watts and a couple crew members pulled up a few seats in the basement bar that co-owner Chris Jones turned into a rock ‘n’ roll clubhouse, plastering the walls with rock memorabilia, including more than a few Stones pieces.
In an exciting collaboration, Hagerty and Huntsman are set to honor the legacy of the late Charlie Watts, the iconic drummer of The Rolling Stones, with a unique exhibition at the Concours on Savile Row event.

“Sure, but I’m cynical about everything, I can’t really help it. I don’t listen to much rock and roll music at all. Yeah, and I don’t consider myself a musician, if you can understand that. I’m a workman and that’s how I approach my task. I don’t think that the Stones are inferior music at all.
“But I think with Charlie going, I have realised more and more how special that is. I mean, there is something about the Stones and there is something about us all that sort of says, ‘No, we stick together’. And then you can’t just drop it. You’ve, you got to follow it right down to the end, down the tunnel.”

Realmente no escucho mucha música rock and roll.

‘Ode To A High Flying Bird’, Charlie Watts’ book, which he wrote and illustrated in 1961.
The story of a little bird, but it’s really about jazz great Charlie Parker. In 1961, twenty-year-old Charles Robert Watts was working as a full-time graphic designer and a part-time drummer. He had left art school in July 1960, and after working as a tea boy in an advertising agency he got his chance to work as a designer.
